February 2024 Prayerlink

ASIA REGION

Thu 1. Ajay – India

Amid all our challenges, God recently drew 38 people into his kingdom. Kmaiti, 28, was a single mother, suicidal, and under much pressure from her family. Mr. Gunadhar, 45, followed Animistic Hinduism but became tired of so many rituals and was broken as his wife left him. Samuel and Khahamrai were two young men addicted to drugs. These are four of the 38 people who recently accepted the Lordship of Christ and experienced release from their struggles.

Fri 2. Worldlink USA

Worldlink President, Jack Nelson, has just returned from visits to regional coordinators and partners in South Asia. It was a very fruitful time to hear and witness the incredible impact of missionary partners in this region. Worldlink is making great strides in this region to help these missionaries reach the most populated region in the world. Please pray for Jack and the Worldlink board as they gather to report, pray, and strategize about this and many more topics tomorrow Saturday, February 3rd.

Sat 3. Phillip – India

Despite the serious persecution we continually face, we thank God that many people, 150 of them in the past quarter, still listen to our message. A while ago, a young lady was brought by a believer to one of our churches. She had been married for seven years but had no baby. We prayed for her. The Lord heard our prayers and gave her a baby boy. We praise the Lord for this special gift. He is now five months old.

Sun 4. Phanna Neak- Cambodia

Recently our church organized ‘Jesus Clinic’, a three-day medical clinic outreach. We reached over 250 people from many different communities. Thank God for the miracles some experienced and many salvations of some souls during the clinic. Dy was healed of a very painful right shoulder and high blood pressure. He got a little better after prayers but came back the following day to tell us he had been healed completely. He has been testifying to the power and love of Christ in the community. He brought his entire family to the clinic and all of them received Jesus as their Lord and Savior. All glory to God.

Outreach – Cambodia

Mon 5. Vasavah – India

Thank God for a successful ministry in Dev. village where we welcomed 8 new believers during the quarter and have started a new church fellowship. From there God is opening doors of ministry in other villages around. We also thank the Lord for delivering Prakash from the evil spirits that were tormenting him. He is growing in his faith and his conversion has opened the entire village to the Gospel.

Tue 6. Dhruba – Nepal

In my last report, I mentioned the commitment of Sushila and Puja to follow Christ and serve him wholeheartedly. We have continued to visit them regularly. Puja and her husband have since expressed their faith in Christ openly through baptism. Thank God for their commitment to the Lord. Pray that they remain strong in their faith in Christ and walk in his ways.

Wed 7. Raja – India

God is helping us to encourage and support persecuted Christians. Currently, 20 of our disciples have been arrested and are in jail. Pray for their release and that God’s Spirit may encourage them. Despite the trials, God gave us the joy of baptizing five believers in one of our secret fellowships with Hindu priests.

Thu 8. Arbem – Indonesia

For years, I’ve wondered if Javanese Christians could effectively reach Javanese Muslims. I was pleasantly surprised that the answer might be, “yes”. The key has been the ongoing intervention of Mr. Ol, the Lay Training Alumni leader appointed in 2022. Pray for his ministry’s continued success.

Fri 9. Anonto – India

Jonturam is from a Christian family but turned back to Hinduism and practiced black magic. The villagers accused him of casting black magic spells on them and banished him from the village area. He has lived alone on the edge of the village for about four years. My friend and I visited him and shared the Gospel with him again. After a few visits, he confessed his sins, accepted the Lord Jesus, and forsook black magic. He longs to be accepted by the village and the church. Please pray for him.

Sat 10. Theresa - Vietnam

Born into a well-off family, DB indulged in gaming, drinking, and all sorts of evils while in the university. When he realized his sins and found no way to escape the torment of his sinful past, he contemplated suicide. It was when he arrived in Ho Chi Minh City that he learned about Jesus and the forgiveness available through his blood. He repented of his sins and received God’s forgiveness and peace. Now he is a very outstanding young man, sharing the Gospel of Jesus with many young people. Pray that his life will continue to shine for Christ.

Sun 11. Arabinda – India

I have been witnessing among the persecuted among whom I live in the forests. I also have had the opportunity to witness the unreached people as I go from house to house. Please pray for protection and fruitful ministry.

Mon 12. Nam – Vietnam

Khuong lost total mobility following a stroke. She became pessimistic and disillusioned, wondering why she did not deserve to live like a normal person. After we visited and prayed with her, she regained faith in God and became more positive. Please uphold her in prayers that she may enjoy God’s abiding presence and sustenance of her faith.

Tue 13. Anonymous – East Asia

Many new believers here hesitate to accept baptism, some because they want to learn more about Jesus, others for fear of being considered by their family and the Muslim community as traitors to Islam and kicked out of their homes and villages. Thank God for some who despite all these challenges still accept to be baptized after several months of discipleship.

AFRICA REGION

Wed 14. Worldlink UK

Our former Trustee and first Treasurer, Ian Batholomew, who suffered brain damage following a heart attack while on a mission trip to East Africa seven years ago, passed away in early January. Thank God for his faithful service to the Lord while he was able. Pray for God’s peace and comfort for Anna, his widow, and the family. We also lost two active Trustees in the second half of 2023. Pray for their families and ask God to raise others to fill the gap created by their departure.

Thu 15. Mathé – Congo DR

We have mentored 50 unwedded mothers, 30 of whom are M23 war-displaced victims. We teach them God’s Word and give them entrepreneurship training. Following 18-year-old Dubure was raped by armed rebel soldiers, and she gave birth to a child. She found it difficult to love the child. She was full of guilt and suffered low self-esteem. Because of the teachings she received, she accepted Jesus Christ into her life, forgave her rapists, and started to love her child. Released in the spirit but is still facing many difficulties in the war-displaced camp where she resides. Please pray that God will sustain her and meet her needs.

Unwedded Mothers’ Training – Congo DR

Fri 16. Nounagnon – Benin

Over the past few months, we have been ministering to the Talibé children (Fulani Street kids). We meet every Tuesday evening from 3 to 7 p.m. Some come to wash their dirty clothes, some are taught to read and write, we play fun games, and at the end, we share a Bible story and pray with them. Finally, we feed them. We are sowing seeds of God’s love in their lives. Pray it will yield abundant fruits soon.

Sat 17. Shaka Gambia

Thank God for opening doors to two new schools. Pray for more volunteers and resources for effective ministry in these and other schools. We also held training for students on evangelizing their peers and neighbors. After the training, one lady from one of the new schools spoke of how she was able to reach all the members of a family in her neighborhood by first reaching out to her friend in that family.

Sun 18. Saio – Sierra Leone

We conducted evangelistic outreaches in two communities last November. In the Kabama community, we ministered the Good News to 38 people and 15 of them accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. In the Kokombai Community, 15 of the 30 people who heard the Gospel message received Christ’s salvation. All these new believers were baptized and formed the nucleus of two new churches in these communities. Pray that the Lord will establish these two communities of faith.

Mon 19. Daniel – Tanzania

Thank God for the successful children and youth camps we conducted in Singida and Dodoma. We ministered to 115 children in their camp and 30 youth participated in the youth camp. Five people came to faith in the Lord Jesus during the camps.

We offer these vulnerable kids remedial classes in English, French, and Math. We also offer them counseling and advice and pray especially for those suffering from addiction and needing God’s deliverance and healing. Pray that the Gospel message we share with them, and the discipleship will impact their lives.

We organized two camps during the December holidays. We thank God for 60 children who participated in the children’s camp and 110 youth in the second camp. Pray that all campers may put into practice many of the lessons they learned at the camp.

Fri 23. Helene – Congo DR

Thank God for daily provision to take care of all the children in our orphanage. The Lord continues to raise help for us. As we together meditate on God’s Word each day, we thank God for the impact of His Word on the children. The Lord continues to gladden our hearts as we see them grow physically, spiritually, and academically.

Sat 24. Womba – Zambia

Thank God for a successful camp held in Lusaka, children’s rallies organized in ten different locations, and farewell parties for final-year students held in different locations in the country. Pray that the over 1000 children and young people who responded to the Gospel message proclaimed during these programs may grow in grace and the knowledge of our Savior.

AMERICAS REGION

Sun 25. DERNA – Cuba

The ministry here is quite new and the people are steeped in idolatry and very much in need of the Savior. After service on Sundays, we go out to preach in the streets and distribute tracts and I, being a doctor, engage in treating the sick in the neighborhood. Thank God for the few who are turning to God. One of these is Emilio, who passed away recently at 69. We thank the Lord because he allowed us in the last moments of his life to support him medically and tell him about the Savior, and a few days before his death he invited Christ into his heart.

Mon 26. HERD – Cuba

Gobert has been in prison almost all his youth. He is an adherent of Palo Monte, one of the most satanic religions practiced in our nation. He was also hooked on drugs and was addicted to gambling. When I started ministering to him, I considered myself crazy, but GOD put it in my heart to keep preaching. Little by little, he came closer to God and our church. Thus began the Lord's redemptive work in his life. We praise the Lord that today, he has fully given his life to Christ.

Tue 27. Mildred – Guatemala

Thank God because children have not only accepted Jesus, but many of them have also reaffirmed their faith and are undergoing discipleship. We have seen how God has changed their lives and behavior and their endeavor to share their faith with others. We thank God also for the firm support of their teachers as well.

Wed 28. Bryann – Guatemala

We conduct discipleship and training to teach others about Jesus. We also give them lessons in photography and video production to empower them and equip them to teach and serve others. One of the disciples has come to know and experience the true love of Jesus as he lives with a family that loves and serves God.

Thu 29. BERTIO – Cuba

We met an alcoholic man begging in the street. He came to ask for money and that allowed me to tell him about the love of Christ. He responded positively to my message and started coming to church. Soon, he accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior. Now, he has become a truly new creature. Even his countenance reflects this new state. Praise the Lord.
